[Important] CSE Curriculum Changes (Effective Fall 2025)

Writer Computer Science Date Created 2025.05.02 Hits885

As the SBU CS Department has updated its curriculum starting from Fall 2025, please see the attached files for the new curriculum changes and detailed information.

As a Computer Science (CSE) major, if you have not completed CSE 216 by the end of the Spring/Summer 2025 term with a grade of C or better, it is recommended that you switch to the Fall 2025 CSE major requirements.

If you have successfully completed CSE 216 or will have successfully completed CSE 216 by the end of summer 2025, it is recommended that you stick with your current requirement term, as switching will require you to complete additional coursework.

Students who have completed CSE 216 and were following the previous curriculum but took one year or more of consecutive leave may request to have their major requirement term reverted to their original term.
Because the system automatically updates the requirement term to the semester of return, students in this situation must contact the department if they wish to continue following the previous curriculum. If you would like to request the change, please email cs@sunykorea.ac.kr with your SBU ID number and a brief explanation.

If you would like to follow these changes, please submit the following Google Form by Friday, August 29, at 4 PM. If you become a regular Computer Science major (namely, “matriculated”), effective Fall 2025, no action is required (Note: If you are in IEC, you are not a matriculated CS major student yet.)
