Our CS department is pleased to annount that Professor Aruna Balasubramanian and Niranjan Balasubramanian are the winners of the Fall 2023 SBU Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) Seed Grant Program competition.
Office of the Vice President awarded $1,000,000 in total funding to support 21 research projects.
Both professors were submitted an abstract and brief proposal, including a timeline that demonstrated how this seed funding would help to develop a highly competitive proposal for extramural funding. Sixty-six applications were received from Stony Brook colleges, including, but not limited to, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the Renaissance School of Medicine, the School of Communication and Journalism, the School of Dental Medicine, and the School of Health Professions.
