The 2025 Eureka Globalstars Call with Japan is now open for applications. This program supports international R&D projects to enhance global innovation through collaboration with outstanding organizations, including those in Japan.
1. Key Timeline
Application Period: Started October 14, 2025.
Submission Deadline: January 21, 2026, at 12:00 CET.
National Funding Procedures: April 27, 2026, or after.
Project Start (Expected): July 1, 2026.
2. Project Scope & Eligibility
Research Areas: Open to all R&D projects (e.g., Quantum Technology, AI, Robotics, Semiconductors).
Exclusions: Technologies related to nuclear power and drug discovery are excluded.
Consortium Requirements: Must include at least two independent legal entities from Japan and at least one other participating Eureka country (e.g., South Korea, UK, Canada, France).
Project Duration: Between 12 to 36 months.
Budget Constraint: No single organization or country can be responsible for more than 70% of the total project budget.
3. Eligibility Criteria
Projects must represent international cooperation for an innovative product, process, or service with a civilian purpose.
Participants must have a goal of commercializing the project results.
A signed project consortium agreement is required before project activities begin.
