Abstract
This talk serves as an introductory overview of generalized differentiation. We will present the concepts of generalized differentiation and their applications in optimization and optimal control. Firstly, we will revisit the definition of classical differentiability and explore some related results in optimization problems. Then, we will delve into nonsmooth techniques designed for scenarios where classical differentiation is inapplicable. Lastly, we will discuss the applications of these principles in optimal control and introduce some ongoing research problems.
