Biography: Ilchul Yoon earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Maryland, College Park in 2010, and M.S. in Computer Science from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2001, and B.E. in Computer Science from Sogang University in 1999. He is an assistant professor at the Computer Science Department, SUNY-Korea, a senior research scientist at CEWIT-Korea, and a research assistant professor at the Computer Science Department, SBU. He is also appointed as the director faculty of the IT Consilience Creative Program, supported by the Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning (MSIP), Korea . His research is sponsored by NRF of Korea (New Investigator Award Program since 2013), the MSIP, Korea (Knowledge and Technology Innovation Program since 2012), and the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy (Convergence ATC Program since 2014).

Ilchul Yoon has interests on the following research areas:

  • Collaborative software testing
  • Distributed and parallel data-intensive system
  • Multimedia technologies for home network
Awards: Ilchul Yoon won the Korea New Investigator Award in 2013 and the Faculty Service Award for outstanding service to the department of Computer Science in 2014. He also received the Outstanding Contribution Award from Digital Living Network Alliance for his contribution to propagate the DLNA technologies to Korean DLNA community. He is a member of ACM and IEEE.
